A new resolution of the European Parliament on cybercrime has highlighted concern about the lack of qualified IT professionals in the area, and has called on EU Member States to invest more in education. The resolution on, ‘The Fight Against Cybercrime’, was adopted at a meeting of the Parliament in Strasbourg, France.

In addition to noting the shortage of IT professionals, the report argues that public awareness of cybersecurity and ICT tools should be raised, and that IT security and the dangers of sharing information online should be incorporated into school curricula.

The full resolution can be read on the website of the European Parliament.
