European Commission Surveying Digital Organisational Management Frameworks, Methodologies, and Standards

European CommissionThe European Commission’s department responsible for the internal market, industry, entrepreneurship and SMEs is carrying out a survey on ‘Digital organisational management frameworks, methodologies and standards’.

The survey, which is being carried out for DG GROW by Capgemini Consulting, in partnership with IDC and empirica, aims to gather information on how existing digital organisational and management frameworks, methodologies and standards are used, and what their users’ needs are, in particular, how these frameworks relate to digital skills frameworks that are in use. The goal is to gather insights on which digital capabilities and tools are the most important; how enterprises approach IT specialists’ competency development; how and which tools can best complement IT specialists’ competency development; and what the value of certifications is.

A number of tools have been developed over the years, including IT service capability maturity models, CMMI, Six Sigma, ITIL, COBIT 5, and Prince 2. These tools cover a wide range of specific aspects in IT. The analysis of potential links of such organisational frameworks and standards to individual level IT skills frameworks and standards will be addressed in the course of the work.

The survey responses will contribute to the development of a proposal for an integrated digital organisational reference framework. The online survey can be accessed on the website of emipirica, and the deadline for completion of the survey is 22 October 2017.
