Is the .eu Top-Level Domain Still Relevant?

Today, the .eu top-level domain is the 7th largest country code in the world. 11 years after the first registrations started, the European Commission has opened a public consultation to assess whether the existing regulations need to be modified. This consultation follows from the many changes that have impacted the market domain names including more competition. The consultation is open from 12 May until 8 August. Respondents targeted by the European Commission are business representatives, those working in the public sector, academia and all those with an interest to provide input on the question of the .eu domain name.
