Bridging the Digital Divide: One of the Many Commitments of the G20 Digital Ministers’ Meeting

Shaping digitalisation at the global level, developing networking for industrial value creation and creating transparency those were the 3 focus points of the first ever meeting of G20 Digital Ministers. The meeting took place in Düsseldorf from 6-7 April 2017 and was organised by Germany who took over the presidency of G20 on 1 December 2016. The point of the meeting was to discuss the next steps for the creation of an international framework. As a conclusion to the debates, a Task Force for Digital Economy was created and will work hand-in-hand with the OECD to determine what will be the main fields of digital policy in the near future.
