Eurostat Reveals European Citizens’ Views on Digitisation and Automation in Daily Life

A majority of Europeans consider that the most recent digital technologies have a positive impact on their life. This one of the many findings issued from EuroBarometer’s survey on the impact of digitisation and automation on daily life. Around 28.000 European citizens participated in this survey, which covers subjects such as digital security (67% would use technologies more if they were to be more secure), digital skills (44% of respondents consider that they are sufficiently skilled), social networks (7% trust stories published on social networks), robots and artificial intelligence (68% agree they are useful as they can overlap with humans’ daily tasks) or even digital health and care (52% are in favour of online access to medical and health records). The results of the survey will help inform on how public policies should accompany the digital transition.
