The EU Skills Panorama, a labour market analysis body, has published a blog entry on skills mismatches in Europe. The blog argues that the main reason for this alarming skills gap is the fact that technology advances faster than people’s skills, therefore creating a situation where the employment market demands certain skills, but people have not yet had time and/or the resources to acquire them. The gender gap in the IT sector is also seen as a hugely influential factor. The post presents an innovative approach by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) to researching and proposing solutions to this problem. This study presents individual results for each EU Member State.
