The main EU statistical office, Eurostat, has released a report with the latest figures and analysis on specialists employed in the ICT sector in Europe. According to the report, in 2015 almost 8 million Europeans were employed in the ICT sector – a 1.5 million increase from 2010. The report also reveals that it still is a field with predominantly male employees (83%). It also presents data on what percentage the employees in the ICT sector constitute of the total employed population per country. The highest share of ICT specialists in employment was found to be in Finland and Sweden and the lowest in Greece and Romania. Finally, the report also provides data on the levels of education of ICT specialists in each country.
