EU and USA to Cooperate More on eHealth IT


US-EU.jpgThe Directorate-General for Communications Network, Content and Technology (DG Connect) of the European Commission and the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) have updated the roadmap for their Memorandum of Understanding on eHealth IT which was signed in 2010. The roadmap had 2 priority areas: 1) Standards development to foster transnational interoperability of electronic health information and communication technology and 2) Workforce skills to develop and expand the Health IT workforce in Europe and the US. At the end of 2015 a third priority area was added: transatlantic eHealth/Health IT Innovation Ecosystems. The activities planned in this area will start in autumn 2016.
